Organize items in categories

If you manage many products or services, your item list can get unwieldy. Fortunately Street Invoice offers a few ways of dealing with this. You can search for your item by starting to type the name of the item, or you can organize your items in categories.

Setup Categories

Android / BlackBerry 10

  1. From the Main Screen, select Settings.
  2. Select Manage System Lists.
  3. Select Category..
  4. To add a new category, select + (plus sign) and enter the description.
  5. Tap the checkmark to save.

Windows PC

  1. From the Main Screen, select Settings.
  2. Select Categories from the Items section.
  3. To add a new category, select New and enter the description.
  4. To edit a category name, select the category and click Edit.
  5. Close the Categories screen and then the Settings screen to save your changes.

Set Item Category

Android / BlackBerry 10

  1. From the Main menu, select the Items
  2. Select the Item you would like to categorize.
  3. Under Category, set the Category for this Item.
  4. Tap (checkmark) to save the changes.

Windows PC

  1. From the Main Menu, select Item List.
  2. Select the Item you would like to categorize, and click Edit Item.
  3. Under Category, set the Category for this Item.
  4. Close the window to save your changes.

Select item by category

When adding items to an invoice, estimate or credit, you can browse your item list by category.

Android / BlackBerry 10

  1. From the main invoice screen, tap Add Item.
  2. To browse by category, swipe the item list between categories.
  • Tip: you can also tap the category heading to quickly jump to any category.
